The entire residential network of Singapore is well planned, neat and aesthetically appealing. Yet, certain areas are preferred by local Singaporeans and others are considered to be favorites of expatriates. The fact remains that every locality has an interesting mix of both locals and foreigners, most likely belonging to similar economic levels. Some of the areas where more foreigners are found include the following:

1.The Western Coast– Two of the most sought after residence areas include Mount Faber and Clementi, since they give a taste of suburban living along with surrounding greenery and open spaces. The Upper Bukit Timah with its proximity to the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve also appeals. With the Canadian School in the vicinity, many families find it the best place to live in. Pasir Panjang is another area loved by expatriates with its sea breeze and lush green patches. Just fifteen minutes away from Orchard Road, it gives the comfort of being close to the city center and yet away from the noise.

2.The Central Area, West of the Central Business District- This remains one area full of expatriates, though many Singaporeans like living here too. It offers an elitist lifestyle with its access to the most exclusive clubs, shopping areas, hotels and fine dining places. The areas like Central Bukit Timah, Novena, Jervois Road and Grange Road are close to the center of the city and being close to Orchard Road makes them popular even though they are expensive. Most of the private condominiums are modern, plush and provide excellent facilities like swimming pools, well-equipped health clubs and fitness centers, barbecue pits and more.

3. The North and North East– The most well known locality in this area is Woodlands that has become popular with foreigners due to the location of the American School in this area. If offers abundance of high-rise apartments and landed properties, each well designed and elegant. Bradell Road and Yio Chu Kang are sought for residential purposes since the Australian International School is located close by. Similarly the Seletar Hills area is sought for the exclusive landed properties it offers.

4. The East Coast- this is a great place to live and enjoy Singapore with its proximity and access to the seaside East Coast Park, full of green patches, beach, barbecue pits, jogging paths and seafood restaurants. Sporting activities offered include windsurfing, canoeing, bowling, roller-blading and wind surfing. The East Coast Tennis Center and the Laguna Golf Course are major attractions. Well connected to the city center and the Central Business District with the East Coast Parkway, it is one of the liveliest areas. Some of the expatriate favorites include the Marine Parade Road condominiums, Meyer Road, Tanjong Rhu areas and many more. Condominiums that are sought by expatriates include Bayshore Park, Costa Del Sol, Pebble Bay, Camelot, Costa Rhu, Mandarin Gardens, Waterside, Water Place and Sanctuary Green.
