You might’ve noticed a little something extra popping out on certain furniture product pages and upon closer look, you’ll see that it’s yet another rating; the BEDS.sg Quality Score.
So what’s that all about?
Why Another Rating?
There are many factors that our buyers consider when purchasing furniture: from pricing, to aesthetics, to material quality, structural integrity and even branding (if any).
Admittedly, online furniture shopping removes the buyer’s initial physical perception and feel of the product. So instead, we enabled a review function which gets buyers of furniture to review their purchases.
So while our existing customer review system provides a good representation of a coagulation of all our customers’ frank opinions on the products, we’ve found that the pricing, aesthetics and branding of each product tends to cloud consumer perception of each product’s material and structural quality.
What we’ve found is that each customer sees things differently. While a buyer may give an overall rating of 4 stars to a relatively cheap cabinet based on its good value for money in terms of design and price, a prospective customer may purchase this same product, assuming that these 4 stars mean that top-notch material is used to make this product.
Our ratings are put in place solely to aid our customers in making educated purchase decisions even without seeing the physical products.
Any loophole which leaves room for misconception simply will not do.
The Quality, The Full Quality and Nothing But The Quality
The BEDS.sg Quality Score gives an unbiased review on the quality of this particular product, taking into consideration only the following factors:
- Material Integrity
- Integrity of Product Structure
- Overall Durability
Unlike most of our customer reviews, it doesn’t take price or product aesthetics into consideration, as our low prices tend to dilute the perception of a product’s quality. These scores are based on our experience with after-sales service of the product and our professional evaluation of the product’s structure.
The following is a breakdown of what each score entails:
Low Material and Structural Integrity with Fair Overall Durability. Suitable for light, short-term usage.
Fair Material and Structural Integrity with Fair Overall Durability. Suitable for light, mid-term usage.
Good Material and Structural Integrity with Good Overall Durability. Suitable for average, long-term usage.
Good Material and Structural Integrity with Excellent Overall Durability. Suitable for heavy, long-term usage.
Excellent Material and Structural Integrity with Excellent Overall Durability. Suitable for heavy, lifetime usage.
So that’s one more source of information to base your purchase decision on. Happy shopping!
